To get a Alaskan Husky to sit let alone a team of them takes training. September runs.

All of our dogs go through basic obedience classes when they are puppies. This gives me full control of large teams of dogs and ensures a safety factor.

Typhoon / Whiteout original dwarf litter, 5 years old. Brothers and sisters are the dwarf 1 and 2 litters.

same rest

Night time hooup.

Sometimes you just have to run through the night to beat the daytime heat of 40 degrees or more.

spooky eyes.

Beautiful October day.

Another rest at Mowe.

A very crisp morning.

Another water hole we stop at when running the southern route of trails.

Trails are broke up so the boys do not see the same trail more then twice in a row.

Its nice to see the end of October because by the middle of October the rests have been numerous because of the heat.

Up to 20 gallons of water may be carried to cool the boys down.

UP200 Feb 19, 20, 21 - long distance race

---------------------------------------------------------------------

For a history from the beginning of our race history read below

the boys in their first race, some people out there try to tell us that we make these dogs do this. Have you ever seen such Happy-high spirited dogs before!!!!!!

Two years ago we bred into one of the top 10 long-distance racing bloodlines in the world. The result was 20 beautiful Alaskan Husky puppies. These pups have proven to be true Canine Athletes. We split the litters up into two groups, a sixteen dog team of boys and a 8 dog team of girls (adding a few girls from the stock we had). To enter the long-distance world of racing requires running mid-distance races so we can become qualified for the long distance races. So we started this winter with the Taquamenon 6 dog sport race where 6 of the boys came in fourth.

We then moved on to a 80 mile race called the Apostle Island 8 dog pro race where the boys came in 7th.

We have finished up with becoming qualified for longer races with the midnight run which was a 93 mile race where the boys came in 13th, so they have proven to be the caliper of canine athletes that I thought they were. We are truly proud of these boys, especially since they are only 2 years old and not fully mature mentally.

The boys, waiting to be brought up to the starting shoot at the apostle Island Race.

above boys resting in the dog-truck

We will finish up the year with some short races which I feel is important for them mentally. I want the boys to understand when they get loaded in the dog truck that we are heading some where's for them to have a great fun run.

They did it!!!!!!!! We finished with the boys coming in 6th. They averaged 17.1 mph over a two day - 12 mile course in the unlimited class. We look forward to a awesome season next year, Lord willing.
