Wilderness Trail Outfitters

Photo Album 2

What a spectacular season, thank you Lord and to all of you. We  truly had a very fun season taking all of you out dogsledding and sharing the beauty of the Upper Peninsula , thank you.  Depending on what team of dogs we are talking about, they ran 2200 miles to 3200 miles.

Click on the pictures for the full size image.

What are you waiting for, lets go dogsledding. "Hunter" the main leader. Led us all for over 3000 miles this past winter. Thanks for the picture Kate.

And our very own "Big Bad Billybob Musher", thanks for your help. Ralph and Billy.

And here is the other half of the Ralph and Billy team. Thanks Ralph, you can let go of your girlfriends now.

Running the main team is the ultimate experience. 17 dogs all tuned up.

I think this picture is the coolest of them all. It says, desolation - wilderness - survival and its just you and your dogs out here.

"Bush Trail"

One of the novice trails.

Beaver Valley Trail.

South Chicago Trail.

Cold mornings - deep snow.

As you can see the dogs can get pretty spunky when this situation occurs.

This was one of the worst weather days. In the forest it was as nice as can be but out in the plains area the winds howeled.

This picture was taken in the same area as the picture before, Lets you know what you could run into weather wise. This is beautiful.

Hardwood Trail.

Enjoying the day with a group of boyscouts.

Beaver Valley, crossing the dam.

North Chicago Trail.

South Chicago Trail.

Evergreen Trail.

Taking a short break in "Beaver Valley".

And another group lunch break.

As you can see in the picture, we do take out children but we never travel far from home when the young ones are along.

Here we are on "Beaver Trail".

With all the freshly fallen snow it sure is pretty.

This year there was a lack of snow but it still got 3 ' deep.

On some days the temperatures reached 35 to 40 degrees F.

And here we go. Taking off with the teams has been discribed as "being shot out of a slingshot" but after a few miles the dogs settle down.

And we do see other wildlife. Look at the top of the trees and you'll see the eagle.

Returning to the kennel after an all day tour.

Another beautiful day on the trail.
